Yulia Piller, MAT, PhD., is a dynamic leader in educational technology and healthcare education, bringing a valuable perspective informed by experience across both K-12 and higher education. Currently serving as the Director of Educational Technology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, she spearheads strategic technological innovation and operations for teaching, learning, and instructional design within a complex academic medical environment.
While her early career included significant contributions to the K-12 sector, where she developed technology curriculum for a major school district and created customized STEaM-driven curricula for the Arts and Technology Institute (a training center for children ages 6-18), her primary focus and extensive experience lie within higher education, particularly in healthcare education.
As a faculty member holding the rank of Assistant Professor of Healthcare Sciences Education, Dr. Piller is actively involved in teaching and mentoring future educators at the doctoral level. Her expertise in curriculum and instructional design is directly applied to developing and delivering continuing education opportunities, including the "Simulation 101 CME course." She leads strategic technological innovation for teaching and learning across all four schools within the medical center, demonstrating a deep understanding of the unique needs and challenges of technology integration in higher education healthcare programs. Her experience includes managing large-scale LMS and simulation management system rollouts, enhancing curriculum through technology, and fostering faculty professional development in areas critical to effective healthcare education.
