Dr Osamu Idahosa is a Critical Care Medicine Specialist at St Luke’s University hospital, Bethlehem, PA and adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Temple University School of Medicine, Philadelphia, PA.
Dr Idahosa completed his undergraduate medical training at University of Benin, Nigeria where he graduated with MBBS in 1999. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency training at Abington Memorial hospital, Philadelphia, PA and subsequently a fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA in 2012.
He is currently Board certified in Internal Medicine, Critical Care Medicine and Neurocritical Care Medicine. He is a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians.
His research interests are focused on development of clinical guidelines/protocols in Neurocritical care , Critical Care Education as well as ICU organization and management.
Dr Idahosa is currently the Coordinator, Critical Care Grand round series at the St Luke’s University health network. He is an instructor of Fundamentals of Critical Care Support(FCCS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) as well as Emergency Neurological Life Support (ENLS).
Dr Idahosa is a founding member and Director of 4Breath4Life-a non-profit organization focused on propagating simple, effective and replicative interventions in new born babies, children and adults with respiratory failure in resource poor countries. Over the past decade, more than 2000 health care providers in 4 states in Nigeria have been trained with more than 1000 resuscitative equipments donated.
He is the current Vice-Chairman ANPA PA/DE chapter.
A life long Arsenal fan, he spends his free time watching soccer, reading, traveling and spending time with his wife and three daughters.
