chyke doubeni
Dr. Doubeni is professor of family medicine, the Chief Health Equity Officer and lead for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) for The Ohio State University (OSU) Wexner Medical Center, and Director for the Center for Health Equity at OSU. He is also associate director for DEI for the OSU Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Doubeni received the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers in 2011. A specific area of his research is on the care continuum related to prevention and screening, with colorectal cancer as the model. That work has informed guidelines and contributed to legislation revising sections of the Affordable Care Act for more comprehensive free coverage of colon cancer screening for the 190 million eligible persons nationally. His h-index is ≥65. He also authors topics on colorectal cancer screening on UpToDate. He served on major US panels, including the US Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF), National Cancer Institute Board of Scientific Advisors, National Cancer Advisory Board Working Group, and a President’s Cancer Panel subcommittee. He chaired the USPTF Race and Racism Workgroup to help transform the recommendation development process through a health equity framework.
