Rachel Herbeck, PT, DPT, Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Geriatric Physical Therapy
Rachel received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Texas Woman’s University in Dallas, Texas and began working for UT Southwestern as a new graduate. She has stayed at UTSW for the past 8 years working primarily on the Acute Care for Elders (ACE) unit in Clements University Hospital. She has since earned her board certification as a clinical specialist in geriatric physical therapy and is one of the lead therapists for the RESTORE program (Returning Seniors To Orthopedic Excellence). She also serves as the Site Coordinator for Clinical Education for all physical therapy students completing official rotations through the acute hospital system. Recently, she has helped with the creation of a new PT (Physical Therapy) service line for UTSW's Emergency Department and is growing her skills daily. Her clinical interests include improving the care of older adults throughout the continuum of care, multidisciplinary teamwork, educating students and residents along with other disciplines, as well as trying to change the social stigmas associated with aging. Outside of work, she has an extremely cute and adorable corgi named Lincoln and enjoys her new hobby of trying to grow vegetables in her garden.
