Yu-Guang He , MD
Yu-Guang He, M.D., is a Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology and the Director of the Vitreal Retinal Fellowship program at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, in Dallas, Texas. He is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in vitreoretinal diseases including diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration and pediatric vitreous retinal disorders.
Dr. He’s Clinical focus is utilizing modern techniques to treat Vitreous, Retinal and Macular Disease in pediatric and adult patients.
Dr. He earned his medical degree at Tongji Medical School in Wuhan, China and completed his internship at Parkland Memorial Hospital System in Dallas, Texas. Dr. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He then went on to complete fellowship in medical retina and vitreoretinal surgery the University of Washington Medical School in Seattle, Washington. Dr. He joined the Ophthalmology faculty at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in 2001.
A member of numerous medical societies, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, Dallas County Medical Society and the Texas Chinese Physician’s Association. Dr. He has authored over 50 peer reviewed articles and a book chapter since 1985. He was awarded the Josephine Long Biddle Chair in Age-Related Macular Degeneration Research in 2011, to which he still carries this prestigious title. He has been elected to service as the Vice President for the Texas Chinese Physician’s Associate.
