USMD Arlington's "Fighting Cancer with Your Fork" (JS2309C)
This activity is an annual didactic lecture and interactive Q&A organized by the Oncology Department at USMD Arlington. This year’s course will discuss nutritional guidelines in relation to Cancer prevention and survivorship. By reviewing the diet, nutrition and lifestyle recommendations presented, participants will be able to help guide their cancer patients to better health from the inside out. The goal is the prevention of cancer and other chronic diseases, but current cancer patients will benefit from utilizing these recommendations after treatment.
Target Audience
The activity will convene USMD Arlington-affiliated physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals who are interested in the care of cancer patients.
Learning Objectives
- Discuss the current research regarding diet, nutrition, and lifestyle and its connection to cancer risk and prevention
- Describe resources for counseling patients on nutrition and cancer risk
- Discuss current professional guidelines focused on diet, nutrition, and lifestyle and its direct link to cancer prevention.
