Melody was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and graduated from the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. She later earned her medical degree at the University of Toledo in Toledo, OH and completed her pediatrics residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center/Children's Health in Dallas, TX. She is currently a neonatal-perinatal medicine fellow at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX. Her research interests include optimizing non-invasive ventilation and facilitating early extubation particularly among extremely preterm infants.
