Marina Santos Oren, MD
Marina Santos Oren, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in respiratory care of newborn infants, invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation, and patent ductus arteriosus.
Dr. Oren earned her medical degree at Universidade do Estado do Pará in Belém, Brazil. She completed a residency in pediatrics and a fellowship in neonatology at the University of São Paulo, where she served as Chief Resident. She also completed a fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine at the University of New Mexico and a residency in pediatrics at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts.
Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2022.
Dr. Oren is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Medical Association, the Brazilian Society of Pediatrics, and the Society for Pediatric Research.
She has delivered numerous presentations and published several academic articles related to her areas of expertise.
In 2021, she received the Clinician’s Clinician Award from Tufts Children’s Hospital.
Personal Note
Dr. Oren writes, “Being a neonatologist is getting to celebrate even the smallest changes with our patients and their wonderful families. It is one of life's most fulfilling experiences to be able to send home a tiny warrior who could fit in the palm of your hand when they were born. It is an honor to care for these babies and their amazing parents.”
