Kari Roberts, MD
Kari Roberts, MD is a Professor of Pediatrics and neonatologist at the University of Minnesota.
She attended medical school at the University of Minnesota and pediatric residency and
fellowship at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. Her clinical interest centers on surfactant
administration through laryngeal (LMA) or supraglottic airways (SALSA). She was the Principal
Investigator of an animal and human trial which is largest national, multi-center, randomized
controlled trial published to date investigation the use of the LMA for surfactant administration
in neonates. She has traveled extensively teaching the SALSA technique across the United
States, Europe and in low-middle income countries such as Tanzania, Azerbaijan, Jordan and
India. In addition, she is active in device development and holds several patents.
