Kristi Garcia
I am Kristi Monique Garcia RRT; I am a Respiratory Care Practitioner Supervisor at Parkland Hospital, and I have been at Parkland the past 7 years. I started working at Garland in 2011 in a small facility where I managed trachs and vents. In 2012, I made a transition to work for Jouett RT associates, where I became specialized in working with ALS patients, Neuro/ spinal cord, and Cystic Fibrosis patients for over 6 years. I joined Parkland in 2016 and started working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This is where I was able to collaborate on various quality improvement projects within the Neonatal unit join the CPAP committee. I assisted with the introduction and roll out of the LISA protocol to the unit and helped put in place the data collection sheet we currently use. I was published on a paper in collaboration with various others for "Decreasing Continuous Positive Airway Pressure Failure in preterm infants" in 2021. I participated in the PAS conference "Say No to Mechanical Ventilation" in Colorado in 2022. I am currently a part of the Neuro NICU committee, Golden hour committee, and assist with our BPD/ROP information gathering. I facilitate the new resident/fellow lecture at Parkland for the NNICU and I am an active member of the C.A.T.T (care assessment tracheostomy team) and RAT (Rapid Assessment Team) at Parkland.
