Jennifer Andrews, R.N. (inactive), J.D.
JENNIFER M. ANDREWS was born in Montgomery, Alabama in1959, and is a graduate of Vanderbilt University (B.S.N. 1981, summa cum laude) and Baylor University School of Law (J.D. 1987) where she was on the Law Review and was Senior Notes and Comments Editor. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Andrews was a registered nurse and worked in the Fondren Unit cardiovascular intensive care as a staff and charge nurse at Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas from 1981 to 1984. She joined Shannon, Gracey, Ratliff & Miller in 1987 as an associate and then Wallach, Jones & Moore, P.C. in 1991, later changed to Wallach & Andrews, P.C. in which she was an equity shareholder. Since D. Michael Wallach was elected as Judge of the 348th District Court, Tarrant County and sworn in January 1, 2017, she has been a member of Naman, Howell, Smith & Lee, PLLC. Her practice has included medical and healthcare malpractice defense, general personal injury and products liability plaintiff and defense, arbitration involving contract disputes and legal malpractice, general civil litigation, administrative law involving health care professionals, representation of professionals in health care facility peer review actions and before Texas licensing boards, health care contracting for peer review issues and individuals, and some probate litigation. Over the last 30 years she has tried many multiple-week cases to verdict, defended and pursued multiple appeals to the intermediate appellate courts and once to the Supreme Court of Texas, and has tried to successful result several arbitrations.
Admitted to practice in Texas State District Courts and before the United States District Court, Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas, and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Member: the State Bar of Texas, Tarrant County Bar Association, Texas Association of Defense Counsel, having served as a District Director, and the formerly the Texas Bar Foundation.
Former Adjunct Professor with the University of Texas at Arlington School of Nursing, Member Eldon B. Mahon Inn of Court, Fort Worth, Texas, Board of Directors for Community Hospice of Texas.
Publications: “Questions Surrounding the Medical Malpractice Statute of Limitations" Summer 1986 Baylor Law Review. Ms. Andrews has been an invited guest lecturer by the Texas Association of Defense Counsel, a Medical-Surgical Seminar sponsored by Methodist Medical Center, Dallas, Texas, and the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants, Fort Worth Chapter, Fort Worth Paralegal Association and the Texas Advanced Paralegal Seminar, as well as co-authoring articles published for attorneys attending medical malpractice conferences, a seminar sponsored by the Tarrant County Civil Trial Lawyers', and the PESI Seminars Dallas and Fort Worth, as well as serving as a judge for the law school moot court competition held in Fort Worth.
Designated a “Top Lawyer” by Fort Worth Magazine in 2009, 2012-2020, 2022. Designated a “Top Lawyer” by 76107 Magazine 2017 and 360West Magazine.
