Melissa Cortez, Associate Professor
Dr. Melissa Cortez is an Associate Professor of Neurology at the University of Utah where she founded and directs the autonomic and sensory physiology laboratory. She is board certified in neurology, clinical neurophysiology, and autonomic disorders. Her clinical and research focus is on the development and implementation of novel, patient-centered interventions for ‘network disorders’ – including sensory dysfunction associated with traumatic brain injury and chronic migraine. Her overarching goal is to better understand the underlying physiology driving her patients’ symptoms while advancing diagnostic strategies, refining treatment selection, and improving functional outcomes.
