Leah Wright, BSc, DMU (Cardiac), PhD
Dr Wright is a Senior Echocardiographer/Post Doctoral fellow at the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institutes in the Sports Cardiology and Imaging Research labs. Her PhD (University of Tasmania, Menzies Research Institute) focused on echocardiography in the clinical follow up of Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension. She has published in several high-ranking cardiac imaging journals including; JACC imaging, European Heart Journal; Cardiovascular imaging & Journal of the American Society of Echocardiography.
She has been an invited author on two textbook chapters; Brauwalds Cardiology & Basic to Advance Clinical Echocardiography. Dr Wright presents widely at both national and internal conferences, works as a peer-reviewer for scientific journals and is a current PhD supervisor.
Her current research interests include the detection of subclinical cardiac disease, sports cardiology and Womens Heart Health. Scientifically, she collaborates with a wide variety of labs including Human Autonomic Neurophysiology, HTLV1-Research and Epidemiology and Preclinical Disease and Prevention.
