Mikaela Patros, PhD Candidate
Mikaela Patrosis is in the final year of her PhD with Monash University. She completed her Bachelor of Science with Honours in 2021 with The University of Melbourne, specializing in vagal microneurography in humans. Through a multidisciplinary collaborative project between the Alfred Hospital and Monash University’s Department of Neuroscience, she is investigating single-unit vagal recordings in epileptic patients receiving vagal nerve stimulation. She is also investigating the effects of vagus nerve stimulation on the sympathetic nervous system in the context of drug-resistant epilepsy.
