Larry Anderson, MD, PhD
Dr. Anderson earned both a medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston and a doctoral degree in cancer immunology from MD Anderson Cancer Center and the UT Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at Houston. He completed internship and residency in internal medicine at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota, followed by fellowship in medical oncology at the University of Washington Medical Center and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.
Dr. Anderson specializes in treating multiple myeloma and other gammopathies, and he has particular expertise in bone marrow transplantation. As a clinical researcher, Dr. Anderson directs several clinical trials for multiple myeloma with a focus on chimeric antigen receptor T cell therapy and stem cell transplantation. Dr. Anderson is a member of the American Society of Hematology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Bone Marrow Transplantation, and the Texas Medical Association, and he is a Diplomate of both the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) and the ABIM Subspecialty Board of Medical Oncology.
Dr. Anderson is an Associate Professor in UT Southwestern Medical Center’s Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hematology/Oncology, and he is the Director of the Myeloma, Waldenstrom’s, and Amyloidosis Program at Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center.
