Evelyn Coile, MD, RCS, RVS
Evelyn Coile began her career in sonography in 2002 performing Echocardiography, Vascular and General Ultrasound modalities as a registered sonographer. She continued working while seeking a dual major in Biology and Chemistry via night school at her local community college, Augusta State University and went on to complete her medical school training at Mercer University School of Medicine in Savannah, GA. She continued her surgical residency training in Savannah, GA at Memorial Health University Medical Center where she was awarded Trauma Physician of the Year, AOA Honor Society, and Researcher of the Year in 2020, 2021 and 2022. She continued sonographic teaching for residents and APPs during her residency and her capstone chief presentation included a detailed view of "POCUS in Surgery" identifying utilization of ultrasound at the bedside and discussion of advanced application of intra-operative ultrasound. She continues her passion for ultrasound today by creating Parkland Trauma's FAST QI Program with continued resident education on POCUS. She is currently in her AAST Trauma / Surgical Critical Care Fellowship with UT Southwestern with goals of becoming an academic trauma surgeon.
