Aimee Israel, M.S.W., LCSW

Aimee Israel, LCSW joined Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center’s Office of Community Outreach, Engagement, and Equity (COEE) at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center as Assistant Director in January 2020.  In her role, she has administrative oversight for all operational aspects of the office including the cancer center’s Nicotine Cessation Program, a Cancer Answer Line, Speaker’s Bureau, Research Advocacy Program and Community Advisory Board.  Prior to her employment at UT Southwestern, Aimee had over 20 years of experience in clinical social work, including quality improvement and research initiatives on early detection and treatment of mental health issues in both primary care and community college settings. Aimee strongly believes that disease prevention and early detection are at the heart of the cancer center’s mission to reduce the cancer burden among all populations in the Dallas-Fort Worth region.
