Camille Kotton, MD

Camille Nelson Kotton, MD, FIDSA, FAST, is the clinical director of the Transplant and Immunocompromised Host Infectious Diseases Program in the Infectious Diseases Division at Massachusetts General Hospital, and an associate professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA. Dr Kotton received her medical degree from the University of Chicago, The Pritzker School of Medicine in Chicago, IL. She then completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of Pennsylvania Health System in Philadelphia, PA and her fellowship in infectious disease at Massachusetts General Hospital/Brigham and Women's Hospital/Harvard Medical School. Dr Kotton is board certified in infectious disease.
Dr Kotton’s clinical interests include cytomegalovirus, donor-derived infections, zoonoses, and travel and tropical medicine in the transplant setting. She is a member of the CDC Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) and is involved in national decisions regarding COVID-19 and other vaccines.
Dr Kotton has served as the chair of The Infectious Disease Community of Practice of The American Society of Transplantation. She has also served as the president of The Transplant Infectious Disease Section of The Transplantation Society and highlights of her time as president include the development of 3 versions of the international guidelines on CMV management after solid organ transplant, published in Transplantation. To add to her many accomplishments, she is the first transplant infectious disease specialist to be a councilor of The Transplantation Society.
