Salman Bhai, MD
Dr. Salman Bhai is the Director of the Neuromuscular Center at the Institute for Exercise and Environmental Medicine and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He completed his medical degree at Harvard Medical School and Neurology residency, Neuromuscular fellowship, and Medical Education Certificate at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. His clinical sub-specialization focuses on myopathies, including inflammatory, metabolic, and mitochondrial disorders. He is the principal investigator of a translational neuromuscular and physiology lab working to better understand muscle signaling in myositis and how inflammation alters muscle signaling and metabolism. He also serves as the site-PI for multiple clinical trials in metabolic and inflammatory myopathies.
