Erica Knoll, MPAS, PA-C
Erica Knoll, MPAS, PA-C, is a board-certified Physician Assistant (PA) in the Department of Pediatrics - Pediatric Neurology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Ms. Knoll completed her undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University in 2009 studying Biology and Genetics. She then earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from UT Southwestern School of Health Professionals in 2013. She has worked in child neurology since 2014. She started her career with a focus on inpatient neuro-hospitalist care, before continuing her career in the outpatient general neurology clinic. She has since further specialized by joining the neuromuscular disorders multidisciplinary team as of 2022. As the pediatric neuromuscular physician assistant, she actively participates in research trials, performs lumbar punctures for intrathecal medication injections in the Spinal Muscular Atrophy patient population, and is co-leader of the medical team for Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) Summer Camp. She has also been part of gene therapy management for Spinal Muscular Atrophy and Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. She has been a repeat guest lecturer at the UT Southwestern Physician Assistant Program, a guest lecturer for Texas Academy of Physician Assistants, a guest lecturer for the UTSW APP Pediatric Lecture Series, a lecturer for inpatient nursing education at Children’s Health, and a preceptor for both PA and NP students. She was nominated for Physician Assistant of the Year at UT Southwestern in 2022 and 2023. In 2023, she was also nominated for both the Education and Advocacy and the Quality Care awards through Children’s Health Advanced Practice Service. In her spare time, she enjoys reading books, cuddling with her two dachshunds, and traveling the world with her husband.
