Allison Popovich
Dr. Popovich completed her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Houston. She continued her education at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, where she finished her medical degree and stayed at University of Texas Medical Branch to complete a residency in Psychiatry. She is currently one of the geriatric psychiatry fellows at UT Southwestern, and after completing fellowship, she will be returning to the University of Texas Medical Branch as an assistant professor.
Dr. Popovich's interest is primarily in education. Over the course of her training she has been a part of presentations given to medical students and residents, and she organized a didactic lecture series to prepare rising third year residents before starting their year of outpatient. She has won awards for her efforts in teaching, including UTMB's Department of Psychiatry Excellence in Medical Student Teaching award, and the UTMB Arnold P. Gold Foundation Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award. Dr. Popovich plans to continue to engage learners in topics important in geriatric psychiatry, and psychiatry as a whole.
