Orson Moe, MD

Orson Moe is a Professor of Internal Medicine, Mineral Metabolism, and Physiology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He serves as the Director of the Charles and Jane Pak Center for Mineral Metabolism and Clinical Research. He participates in education, clinical practice, clinical and basic research, and administration. His research is on renal physiology, mineral metabolism, and epithelial biology of ion transport and metabolism. His disease-oriented research is relevant to nephrolithiasis, electrolyte disorders, extrarenal complications of chronic kidney disease and metabolic bone disorders. Moe is active in education locally, nationally, and internationally. He co-edits the textbook Seldin and Giebisch’s The Kidney: Physiology and Pathophysiology, and Current Opinions of Nephrology and Hypertension, Pathophysiology section. He is a member of the American Association of Physicians, American Society of Clinical Research, American Physiologic Society and International Society of Nephrology.
