Emily Kahl, M.D.
Dr. Emily May Kahl is a board-certified physician with dual training in Internal Medicine and Psychiatry. She received her bachelor's degree in the Biological Basis of Behavior from the University of Pennsylvania before returning to her hometown of Kansas City, Missouri, to complete her medical degree at the University of Kansas.
Dr. Kahl went on to complete a combined Internal Medicine and Psychiatry residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, where she developed a strong clinical interest in geriatric psychiatry. During her training, she was honored with the Lorraine Sulkin-Schein Resident Award for excellence and was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society in recognition of her commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.
Currently, Dr. Kahl practices in consult-liaison psychiatry at Parkland Health, provides outpatient geriatric psychiatric care, and plays a key supervisory role in both the Internal Medicine and Psychiatry clinics at Parkland. Her work reflects a deep commitment to interdisciplinary care and advancing mental health support for aging populations. She is most passionate about resident education.
