Ajit Limaye, M.D., Professor of Medicine, UCSF

Dr. Limaye is Professor of Medicine and Director, Transplant & Immunocompromised Host Program, Univ. of California San Francisco. His clinical and research interests are focused on the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of infections in immunocompromised patients. CMV and other viruses have been the focus of his NIH-funded clinical research program over the past 20 years. Dr. Limaye has led practice changing clinical trials, held leadership positions in the American Society of Transplantantation Infectious Disease Community of Practice, and received several awards for his research, clinical, and teaching activities. He has mentored several faculty who now hold faculty positions at premier academic institutions in the US and abroad. He has a deep commitment to improving the clinical standard of care through carefully designed and conducted clinical trials.
