Hi! I'm Kathy Nguyen, a first-generation Vietnamese American from Texas.  My parents immigrated from Vietnam and worked hard to create opportunities for me and my siblings that they never had.  I grew up in Arlington, and now live in Fort Worth with my husband, Hien, and our three young kids, Tatum (4), Kash (3), and Kollyns (2).  Outside of work in my spare time, I enjoy traveling and going to the beach.  

Professionally, I've been in the echocardiography field for 11 years, with much of that time spent mentoring as a preceptor, seeing inpatients, outpatients, and working mobile.  I've been with UTSW for over 5 years.  I am impressed by the diversity and team-driven culture here.  The work being done at the forefront of cardiology has been a unique and valuable experience, pushing me to grow professionally in ways I hadn't anticipated.  I absolutely love academic healthcare and have benefited greatly from the opportunities offered at this this institution.
