Elizabeth Whitlock, MD, MSc

Dr. Elizabeth Whitlock is an Associate Professor in the University of California, San Francisco Department of Anesthesia & Perioperative Care. A clinical anesthesiologist and epidemiological researcher, Dr. Whitlock’s work centers on understanding impact of perioperative care on patient-centered cognitive and functional outcomes, like delirium and cognitive change, in older adults. Funded by the National Institutes of Health, her research program intends to facilitate patient-centered counseling about postoperative neurocognitive disorders. She has received funding from the Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research, the National Institute on Aging’s GEMSSTAR R03 mechanism, and is currently PI of an R01 award from the NIA.
