7th Annual UTSW Health System Celebration of Excellence 2025 (RP2505D)
The UTSW Health System Celebration of Excellence, is a day-long event that will highlight examples of innovation and improvement in quality, patient experience, people, and financial stewardship throughout the Health System. During this event, the keynote lecture and fireside chat will explore strategies for fostering psychological safety and enhancing team dynamics within the organization, particularly the importance of high-performing teams in delivering high-quality care. This activity serves as a platform for recognizing individuals and teams who have made significant contributions to the health system's success. Open to the entire campus, this annual event will feature speakers and poster presentations that focus on the outstanding efforts and successes of our employees on a daily basis. Networking among peers to exchange ideas is encouraged serving as a catalyst for positive change and collective growth in an environment of continuous learning and improvement. Keynote presentation and fireside chat will explore “Improving Care by Building Social Capital”
1) Describe the concept of social capital and explain its relevance to healthcare organizations;
2) Identify the key components of social capital, including trust, relationships, and collaboration, and how they contribute to high-performing healthcare teams;
3) Explain the relationship between social capital, provider experience, and patient care quality;
4) Discuss the role of healthcare leaders in building, managing, and being stewards of social capital within their teams;
5) Discuss key challenges in the healthcare industry that can be mitigated by stronger social capital, such as burnout, staff turnover, and organizational inefficiency;
6) Examine strategies for building social capital within healthcare organizations.
