Taylor Coe, MD

Taylor Coe, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in the treatment of patients with end-stage liver and kidney disease through deceased- and living-donor liver transplantation, hepatobiliary surgery, and kidney transplantation.
Dr. Coe earned her medical degree at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. She completed a residency in general surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital and received advanced training through an abdominal transplant and hepatobiliary surgery fellowship at Toronto General Hospital. As a part of her surgical training, she completed the Massachusetts General Hospital and Association for Surgical Education surgical education and leadership fellowships.
Certified by the American Board of Surgery, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2025.
Dr. Coe serves as an Associate Program Director for the general surgery residency and is committed to optimizing surgical training through curriculum development, mentorship, and research.
She has delivered numerous invited talks and oral presentations and published more than 45 academic articles related to her areas of expertise.
Dr. Coe is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Transplant Surgeons, and the Association for Surgical Education.
