Cristos Ifantides, MD, MBA

Dr. Cristos Ifantides is a fellowship-trained, board-certified anterior segment surgeon who specializes in routine and complex surgeries of the front of the eye. He is a leader in the field and has pioneered new surgical techniques for complex anterior segment surgery that have been adopted across the world. Dr. Ifantides has received numerous awards, including “Top Doctors” for 2020 and 2022, “One to Watch”, “Rising Stars in Ophthalmology”, and “40 under 40”. He has published dozens of peer-reviewed articles and has given over 90 invited lectures at local, national, and international conferences.
Prior to joining Tyson Eye, Dr. Ifantides was an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology and an Assistant Professor of Bioengineering at the University of Colorado Medical School. He was an NIH-funded researcher whose research lab used 3D printing, material science, and drug development to focus on finding solutions to large unmet needs for eye care patients. He also served as the Director for Ophthalmic Global Outreach and has worked on 5 continents around the world teaching, providing surgery, and helping local doctors get the training and resources they need to take care of their patients.
