The Texas Medical Board (TMB) has announced a new requirement related to how continuing education (CE) is tracked for Texas-licensed physicians and other TMB licensees. Please review the summary below and the included links for additional details.
What’s changing
- TMB has designated CE Broker as the official system for tracking continuing education credits.
- CE Broker will be used by TMB to verify CE completion for audits and license renewals.
Timeline
- Now through August 31, 2026:
- Use of CE Broker is optional, unless you are selected for a TMB CE audit.
- Beginning September 1, 2026:
- Use of CE Broker becomes mandatory for all TMB license renewals.
- All required CE must be reported in CE Broker before you can renew your license.
What you will need to do (by Sept. 1, 2026)
- Create and maintain an active CE Broker account.
- Ensure all completed CE activities are recorded in CE Broker prior to license renewal.
CE Broker account information
- A basic CE Broker account is free for all TMB licensees.
- Optional paid upgrades are available but not required.
- If you already use CE Broker for another state license, you may add your Texas license to the same account.
