The Texas Medical Board (TMB) has announced a new requirement related to how continuing education (CE) is tracked for Texas-licensed physicians and other TMB licensees. Please review the summary below and the included links for additional details.

What’s changing

  • TMB has designated CE Broker as the official system for tracking continuing education credits.
  • CE Broker will be used by TMB to verify CE completion for audits and license renewals.

Timeline

  • Now through August 31, 2026:
    • Use of CE Broker is optional, unless you are selected for a TMB CE audit.
  •  Beginning September 1, 2026:
    • Use of CE Broker becomes mandatory for all TMB license renewals.
    • All required CE must be reported in CE Broker before you can renew your license.

What you will need to do (by Sept. 1, 2026)

  • Create and maintain an active CE Broker account.
  • Ensure all completed CE activities are recorded in CE Broker prior to license renewal.

CE Broker account information

  • A basic CE Broker account is free for all TMB licensees.
  • Optional paid upgrades are available but not required.
  • If you already use CE Broker for another state license, you may add your Texas license to the same account.
