K. Keely Boyle, M.D., is an Assistant Professor Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where she also serves as Division Chief of Joint Replacement and Reconstruction. She specializes in robotic knee and hip replacement, as well as hip resurfacing. Her expertise includes minimally invasive techniques that result in reduced recovery time and less pain after joint replacement surgery.

Dr. Boyle evaluates and treats adult patients of all ages, including those experiencing severe knee or hip pain that may be caused by arthritis, damaged or worn-out joints, a sports-related injury, or other conditions. She is committed to providing highly personalized treatments. Her care philosophy is to evaluate each individual patient’s overall health and needs, rather than focusing on a body part. Dr. Boyle believes this is key to supporting enhanced recovery and postsurgical satisfaction.

She earned her medical degree at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in Washington, D.C. She completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery at the State University of New York at Buffalo, where she served as Chief Administrative Resident. She received advanced fellowship training through an adult reconstruction and joint replacement fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, where she served as Chief Administrative Fellow.

Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2025. Dr. Boyle has received several research grants, including the Moore Foundation Grant for the development of electronic quality measures for periprosthetic joint infection. She has published numerous peer-reviewed academic articles; delivered multiple podium and poster presentations at national and international conferences; and contributed to resources such as Operative Techniques in Orthopaedic Surgery, AAOS Toolkit for Surgeons, and Orthopaedic Surgery Clerkship.

She is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, and Women in Orthopaedics and Women in Arthroplasty groups, which are designed to encourage and empower women seeking a career in orthopaedics.

She is the recipient of numerous awards. In 2020, Dr. Boyle earned the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons’ James A. Rand Award, which honors a young investigator who demonstrates clinical excellence in knee-related research.

Dr. Boyle is committed to continuously improving patient outcomes and pushing the boundaries of joint replacement. She believes that robotic technology is a key driver of advancements in the field and is excited to be part of improving and implementing these innovations.

Personal Note

When she is not at work, Dr. Boyle enjoys going on outdoor adventures with her partner, Dr. Scott Nodzo, an orthopaedic surgeon, and their two children. She plays skis both backcountry and downhill. She is also a food and wine enthusiast and enjoys Formula 1 racing.
