Purpose and Overview
To understand the biology, diagnosis, treatment, and future complications of preeclampsia.
Target Audience
UT Southwestern faculty, fellows, residents and medical students, community physicians, nurse clinicians, physician assistants and nurses.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
- Understand the biology of preeclampsia, especially the mechanisms of endothelial injury
- Appreciate the methods to diagnose preeclampsia with standard and novel tests
- Acknowledge the challenges in developing a treatment for preeclampsia as they relate to both mother and fetus
