Purpose and Overview

Provide a comprehensive overview of the current and upcoming technology in diabetes Continuous Glucose monitors (CGMs), Smart pens/ Button/ caps, Inhaled insulin, Patch pump,s Insulin pump,s Smart Apps, and Introduction to the new model of diabetes care: Remote patient monitoring (RPM).

Target Audience

UT Southwestern faculty, fellows, residents and medical students, community physicians, nurse clinicians, physician assistants and nurses.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be able to:

  • Understand the benefit of CGM therapy in Diabetes.
  • Select among the different technologies available for diabetes individualizing care.
  • Understand how Automated insulin delivery system works.
