Purpose and Overview

The purpose of this presentation is to review recent advances in the treatment of chronic kidney disease and progress in treatment of end stage kidney disease.  At the end of the presentation particpants should understand some future approaches to reduce the adverse consequences of kidney disease.  

Target Audience

UT Southwestern faculty, fellows, residents and medical students, community physicians, nurse clinicians, physician assistants and nurses.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be able to:

  • Recognize the various options for goal-directed medical therapy for chronic kidney disease. 
  • Understand the role of pragmatic clinical trials to improve care of patients with chronic kidney disease. 
  • Identify strategies to improve the care of patients with end stage kidney disease.
