EM2608D “To (Vitamin) D or Not to D-That is the Question.” (IMGR-081426)

The purpose of this medicine grand rounds is to provide updates on the data and resulting clinical practice guidelines on vitamin D measurement and supplementation in the general population and chronic kidney disease. 

Target Audience

UT Southwestern faculty, fellows, residents and medical students, community physicians, nurse clinicians, physician assistants and nurses.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be able to:

  • Understand the physiology of vitamin D in patients with normal and impaired kidney disease.
  • Learn about the ramifications of over supplementation of vitamin D.
  • Know the appropriate dosing of vitamin D3 as recommended by USPTF
