The purpose of this live activity is to make practicing anesthesia care

providers and their support personnel aware of new information about various areas of Anesthesiology and to update their clinical

skills and provide a knowledge base that will enhance their treatment of patients. This will be accomplished via lectures, slides,

videos, case presentations, and handouts.

Target Audience

UT faculty, private practitioners, resident physicians, and fellows in Anesthesiology; medical students,

resident registered nurse anesthetists, certified RNAs, nurses, and support personnel of (Parkland Hospital and University

Hospital) anesthesia departments.

Learning Objectives

The goal of the Anesthesiology Grand Rounds is to

provide reviews of major topics in Anesthesiology with emphasis on preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative aspects of

patient care. At the conclusion of this activity participants should be able to: 1) Discuss recent clinical and research advances in

anesthesiology and general medicine; and 2) Be knowledgeable about current preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative

problems.
