146 Otolaryngology Skull Base Grand Rounds: "Esthesioneuroblastoma: Current paradigm of workup and management" (060519)

Dallas, TX US
June 5, 2019

The surgical removal of benign and malignant tumors involving the base of the skull often creates a communication between the subarachnoid space and the paranasal sinuses and nasopharynx, and therefore may place the patient at risk for the development of a cerebrospinal fluid fistula and meningitis post operatively.  This lecture will improve the ability of those in attendance to prevent this complication when possible, and to manage those fistulae that will inevitably occur

Target Audience

Neurosurgery and Otolaryngology faculty and residents

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this lecture, those in the audience should be able to:

Understand the non-operative and operative management of a cerebrospinal fluid fistula after skull base surgery
