157 Research Radiology Grand Rounds: "Haste makes waste: proton production from the glycogen shunt and pO2, pCO2 and pH homeostasis determines the BOLD effect during activation" (110421)
The Department of Radiology will invite 6 - 8 visiting professors who are highly respected in their field of study, to provide our faculty, trainees, and the UT Southwestern faculty community at large with their expert knowledge in basic and pre-clinical science. The speakers will convey concrete examples of experimental design, statistical analysis and hypothesis-driven research that will directly impact the department's efforts to grow and sustain a world class Radiology Department. These lectures will help to address the rapidly changing environment and the numerous future innovations in Radiology that should be communicated to radiologists, other clinicians, and researchers in a timely fashion. Awareness of research regarding technical development of new innovations in diagnostic imaging techniques and procedures is crucial moving forward.
Faculty, Fellows, Residents, and Support Staff
At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
- Assess research underway in technical developments in radiologic diagnostic imaging techniques
- Discuss how innovations in radiologic diagnostic imaging may impact practice.
- Identify areas where innovations in radiologic therapeutic procedures are occurring
- Estimate when these methods might become available for clinical implementation.
