201 Breast Imaging Journal Club (051221)
The monthly Breast Imaging Journal Club is designed for group review of current peer-reviewed publications of relevant topics to contribute to the state-of-the-art practice of breast imaging. The activity is attended by 12 dedicated breast imaging faculty, 3 breast imaging fellows, rotating residents, administrative support, and guests. The articles are chosen and presented by one of the fellows with direction and input from the research coordinator and course director. The activity allows for critical review of and pertinent input regarding the chosen articles from experienced faculty members. The discussion includes how to accurately review articles as well as any needed implementation of new technology and research findings into our clinical practice.
Target Audience
Faculty, as well as nurses, residents, medical students, the community physicians, staff and guests who are interested in the care of breast cancer patients.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
- Critically review current peer-reviewed literature
- Integrate new knowledge from the literature to improve interpretation skills and physician competence.
- Integrate new knowledge from the literature to revise patient management and improve patient outcomes.
- Integrate new knowledge from the literature to implement new technological innovations and improve performance in clinical practice.
