221 Sports Medicine Journal Club (111319)
The multidisciplinary sports medicine journal club is a monthly meeting in which we review current, topic-driven journal articles to help promote high quality, evidence-based sports medicine care across multiple departments (PM&R, Family Medicine, Orthopedics, Physical Therapy, Athletic Training, Prosthetics & Orthotics) within UT Southwestern. Given the multidisciplinary nature of sports medicine, the care that patients receive across disciplines is often variable and of varying quality. Each journal article will be focused on a common sports medicine topic and will be lead be an expert in that content area. The session leader will facilitate a discussion in the following format: (1) Is it new? (2) Is it true? (3) Will it change what you do? The goal of this session is to help healthcare professionals involved in sports and musculoskeletal care, provide consistent, high-quality, evidence-based care across disciplines.
