These Grand Round presentations are provided to make physicians, psychologists, social workers, nurses, and professional staff aware of the latest developments in various areas of psychiatry and medicine. The health care professional will update their clinical skills and be provided a knowledge base that will enhance the diagnosis and treatment of patients

At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
- Describe suicide trends over the past two decades at the county, state and national levels by demographic group.
- Present the basic tenets of at least one model explaining the etiology of suicidal behavior
- Discuss interventional approaches to treating suicidal patients in clinical settings
- List the basic steps in developing a safety plan
- Explain the purpose and steps in an effective means restriction conversation.
