JGR22-622 AAP TECaN National Advocacy Campaign: 'Mental Health Interventions in the NICU' (030922)

March 9, 2022

This 10-Part virtual/on-demand webinar series will bring together experts from across the nation to discuss topics related to NICU family mental health and wellness.  Parental mental health needs are extremely prevalent in the NICU. Despite the high needs and impact on child and family outcomes, most NICUs do not currently have a standard of care to address familial mental health. Our purpose through the National AAP TECaN Carousel Care Campaign is to educate NICU providers across all scopes of practice on how to identify and address family wellness needs. This session will focus on NICU interventions that providers can implement in order to address parental mental health. Specifically, we will discuss the different aspects of trauma informed care, as well as cognitive behavioral therapy and other therapeutic modalities in the NICU setting.
