Academic Clinical Provider Lecture Series: “The Resilient Clinician: Leveraging Cognitive Based Therapy & UTSW Wellness Resources to Reduce Advanced Practice Burnout " (EM100-011226)

The purpose of this program is to:

1) Provide a forum to review and discuss the clinical management of patients and to evaluate issues confronted by today’s Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants in both public and private clinical practice and medical research settings.

2) Provide a forum through which current UT Southwestern protocols and Ethical issues are addressed.

The course material will be presented through lecture presentations, power points, case studies, question and answer sessions, and video presentations.

1.  Describe the scope and impact of burnout among pediatric advanced practice providers, including implications for patient care, professional well-being, and workforce sustainability
2.  Explain the evidence-based role of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in mitigating burnout and enhancing resilience in high-demand pediatric clinical environments.
3.  Recognize key findings from a DNP project evaluating self-paced online CBT interventions and their relevance to pediatric APP practice and leadership.
4.  Identify their current stage of change related to wellness behaviors using the Transtheoretical Model and apply strategies to advance toward sustainable well-being.
5.  Apply brief, practical CBT-informed tools and UTSW wellness resources that can be used immediately during clinical shifts to support stress management and resilience.
