SRC's 'Pediatric Musculoskeletal Ultrasound: Fundamental Course' (JS2211D)

November 19, 2022

We're offering a pediatric musculoskeletal ultrasound hands-on course through repeat small-sized cohorts. This will be a 1 day fundamentals event intermixing didactic learning with hands-on ultrasound experiences focused on evaluating musculoskeletal conditions in the pediatric population. This is a unique opportunity for these learners as it provides both didactic and hands-on learning on an emerging topic and technology of ultrasound. Although there are other hands-on ultrasound courses across the country, this is the first (to our knowledge) that focuses on pediatric musculoskeletal ultrasound.

Target Audience

This course is targeted towards providers including pediatricians, ER doctors, APPs, athletic trainers, physical therapists, sports med physicians, rheumatologists, chiropractors, and sonographers from a regional and national audience.

Learning Objectives

  • Discuss transducer and equipment setting selections for pediatric musculoskeletal ultrasound examinations.
  • Discuss the basic pediatric musculoskeletal anatomy pertinent to ultrasound of children at different ages.
  • Identify and discuss the appearance of the growing articular skeleton when obtaining a musculoskeletal ultrasound on children.
  • Describe normal findings and common pathology on ultrasound of the major joints and other musculoskeletal structures.
