SRC's Pediatric Orthopedic Education Symposium 2023 (JS2302D)
This one-day conference will review common musculoskeletal pathologies with an emphasis on in-person demonstrations for preforming a pediatric orthopedic examination. In addition, this course will highlight relevant psychosocial factors for consideration in pediatric assessments. These new skills will enable the practitioner to perform a detailed musculoskeletal examination and combine that information with additional musculoskeletal learning to diagnose and either treat or refer the patient to a qualified pediatric orthopedist.
Target Audience
This is a seminar for pediatricians, family practitioners, physician assistants, advanced practice nurses and allied health professionals.
Learning Objectives
- Recognize pediatric orthopedic conditions requiring immediate referral for evaluation and intervention and those which may safely be managed in the primary care provider's office.
- Demonstrate pediatric orthopedic examination skills and discuss diagnostic techniques towards the management of common orthopedic problems that present to the pediatrician and/or family practitioners.
