SRC's Spina Bifida Association Clinical Care Meeting (JS2605C)
The Spina Bifida Association of America sponsors an annual Clinical Care Partners Conference. Didactic (and case based if applicable) presentations will focus on sharing updated evidence-based practices and programmatic initiatives taking place in spina bifida clinics across the nation. This year, the Conference will be hosted by Scottish Rite for Children in Dallas May 28-30, 2026 at the Scottish Rite Hospital. There are typically about 150-200 participants for these conferences. The participants come from multiple clinical disciplines, and all are involved in providing services to people with spina bifida.
Target Audience
The Spina Bifida Clinical Care Meeting brings together clinicians and care teams (including physicians, APP’s, Nurses, Social workers, OT/PTs, Psychologists, and nurse aids) as well as patient advocates from across the country who share one goal: improving the lives of people living with Spina Bifida.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this educational conference, the participant will be able to:
- List outcomes of the SBA Benchmark Project and describe factors that may require changes in clinical practice
- Identify aspects of Executive Function skills and describe evidence-based mechanisms of measurement/intervention in individuals with myelomeningocele.
- List risk factors unique to the Latino community of individuals with myelomeningocele and their families.
- Discuss aspects of sexuality, personal identity, and optimal reproductive health in male and female adolescents with myelomeningocele.
