The Department of Internal Medicine, Diversity Equity and Inclusion, presents "Implicit Bias Training 2022" (RP2212B-072022)

This activity is a facilitator-led, interactive discussion on the topic of implicit bias. The facilitator will review the definition of implicit bias, review examples, and walk the participants through vignettes to demonstrate implicit bias reduction strategies. The workshop will end with the exercise of each participant writing an anonymous “pledge” to use one or more of the strategies in their personal lives.

Target Audience

This training is open to all.

Learning Objectives

1) Identify and define implicit bias
2) Discuss strategies and resources to consciously override implicit bias in one-on-one interaction
3) Write a reflective statement regarding personal implicit bias and how learners intend to manage it with the tools discussed
