The ultimate aim of this course is to improve individuals as surgeon educators by providing them with the necessary educational tools that enable them to adopt suitable intraoperative teaching and coaching styles while maintaining flexibility for each trainer’s own approach.

  1. Apply a structured framework for teaching using the “Brief – Intraoperative Teaching – Debriefing” model in the OR as indicated in improved evaluations of teaching behavior.
  2. Use the Six Steps to aligning agendas in the OR to enhance the learning environment
  3. Integrate realistic training goals with trainees during every case
