Quality Tools and Process Mapping/ Human Error and Root Cause Analysis (CS&E Course 17 Day 2)

Dallas, TX US
February 10, 2017

The Clinical Safety & Effectiveness (CS&E) course was established by UT System with the goal of providing faculty and staff with the tools needed to initiate and maintain change. In addition to numerous teams from UT Southwestern, our CS&E program has hosted teams from Children's Medical Center of Dallas, Parkland Health & Hospital System, Dallas Veteran's Affairs Medical Center, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, and the Ontario (Canada) Ministry of Health.

Participants should come to class with an improvement project in mind. Over the duration of the course, team members will receive instruction on how to implement, develop, and maintain change initiatives in their departments.

Classes meet seven times over a three month period with an additional day for presentation of projects at the close of the course. Participants will present their Aim Statement at the beginning of the course and will receive constructive feedback from their classmates. A facilitator who is experienced in quality improvement will work with each team to guide the development of their project.
