2nd Annual Update in Liver Disease (RP1604E)

This activity is a review course intended to update practicing physicians on the latest advancements in liver disease. It is geared towards all physicians caring for liver diseases.The learner should be able to gain insight on the new advances for diagnosis and treatment of viral hepatitis, liver transplantation, fatty liver, alcoholic hepatitis, autoimmune liver disease, and drug induced liver injury. The discussion will be centered on cases in order to make the activity interactive and practical, and this activity will include a session on real-life consultation by experts.

Target Audience

This program is designed for all physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and specialists in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology caring for liver diseases.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this symposium, the participants should be able to link the educational objectives to Core Competencies (Patient Care and Medical Knowledge) and be able to:

  • Determine the newest approach to the treatment of Hepatitis C.
  • Determine the approach to the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma.
  • Determine when to refer a patient for liver transplantation and to learn about organ allocation.
  • Determine the new treatment for fatty liver.
